Sunday Night Reflections 1.31.10

It is hard to believe that Sunday is the last day of January.  There has been so much stuff going on that is seems like January just flew by!! Got to be honest, I am not sure that there could have been a better way to close out the month! Here are some thoughts: - We saw 3 people (that I know of) give their lives to Christ on Sunday and many others recommit their lives to Christ. - More and More people keep showing up on Sunday Mornings and it is AWESOME! - We are still working on some quick and practical ways to resolve our current parking lot issues and lack of seating.  We are hoping to have...

Sunday Stuff 1.24.10

Sunday was an amazing day, SERIOUSLY God is doing some amazing things in and through the people who make up Meadowland Church! - I was PUMPED all week for Sunday. -The worship team did their own spin of “No Perfect People” by Natalie Grant on Sunday.  They ROCKED it, worship was amazing! - In cased you were not here I am about 98% sure we set an attendance record.  We had 0 seats left and had cars double parked in the parking lot.  There were even a couple people standing in the back to make room! AMAZING!! - In case you were wondering, yes we are working on a plan for the parking...

Sunday Night Reflections on Monday!

Sunday was an AMAZING day  at Meadowland Church.  Seriously, yesterday was probably one of the most energetic days we have had at Meadowland Church.  I received a couple emails from different people saying it was ELECTRIC during the worship service yesterday! - Yes, in case you heard, I did wear a Snuggie yesterday! Had to use that illustration before we go live with video! No, the Snuggie was not mine! -I believe that Jesus has called us as a Church and as Individuals to some amazing things in 2010!  Our desire to stay COMFORTABLE will prevent us from following Christ.  Jesus is our SAVIOR...

How To Make Sure Church is Boring by Perry Noble

Perry Noble posted this on his BLOG this morning and I had to repost it.  Church should not be boring, the gospel should never “get old”, but if you were looking to make Church a little boring, Perry has 8 steps to make it happen!! How To Make Sure Church is Boring: I know some people do not agree with me…but I FIRMLY believe that church should not be a boring place…because… The Bible is NOT boring–the teachings of God’s Word are more relevant and exciting that anything on the planet. Jesus was NOT boring – to see His life lived out in the Scriptures AND to see WHO HE...

Sunday Night Reflections 1.10.10

Today has been an AWESOME day, here are some thoughts: - I celebrate the fact that we are a crowded church.  As of right now we are breaking about every man made “Church Growth” principle on the people to empty seats ratio and parking lots spaces.  We have space issues, and I am thankful for that. September of 2008 there were 35 people at Meadowland Church, today there were around 120 (rough estimate)! - We are not perfect and that is good news!  Jesus came for the people who mess up, fumble the ball, have hurts, habits, baggage – you get the idea.  In Matthew 5 at the beginning...

10 Reasons Why I Am Pumped For 2010

It is about 8:00 am on Sunday Morning, and as I pray and review the message for this morning (which is going to be like nothing I have done before) I can’t help but be excited about Jesus and what He is doing in and through Meadowland Church. 10 Reasons Why I am Pumped for 2010: 1. Jesus is Leading Us.  Last year God moved Meadowland Church in so many ways.  While some of the changes were unexpected, God showed up in huge ways and we cannot wait to see what else He will do this year.   Jesus is the Senior Pastor of Meadowland Church. 2.  Our Leadership. A year and a half ago, Meadowland...

Bible Reading Plans

Want to do something meaningful this year, that is guaranteed to have a positive impact on your life? Read the entire Bible this year, you can do it! Justin Taylor has pulled together possible ways to read the Bible in the new year. The ESV Bible Reading Plan has a lot of great features like the ability to import the reading plan into your calendar, read the daily readings like a blog online, or you can download the plan. Personally, I am going with the Discipleship Journal Plan because it is the best fit for ME.  This plan has scheduled make up days, which I love!  There is nothing more discouraging...

Things to Come

Some of you have heard me talk about 2010 and some of the stuff I am PUMPED about. Rather than keeping you in the dark, I thought I would give you a preview of some stuff that’s coming up in January and February. This year we as a Church we are going to be studying the Sermon on the Mount, and we are kicking it off with a series “No Perfect People Allowed”. Are you are messed up? Do you screw up? If you have days when it seems like nothing is going right and it may be you that is getting in the way? If you are broken down, fail, fumble and have some baggage, then you are in good...

Sunday In Review: 12.20.09

- I am pumped about our Christmas Eve Service this Thursday at 7:00 pm.  Jesus was born in a manger and our Christmas Eve service is a barn!  Talk about an authentic and relevant way to celebrate Christmas! - Do WHATEVER it takes to BRING someone with you this Christmas Eve.  If you have family and friends over for Christmas Eve, make it part of your night!!  It is going to be awesome!! -  The path you are on ultimately decides your destination.  If your intentions, desires and goals do not match up with the path you are on, you will not get to where you want to go. - I have never met anyone...

Sunday in Review 12.13.09

- Sunday was my 29th Birthday.  It was a great privilege to have the opportunity to share the Gospel and preach God’s Word on my Birthday.  It was an awesome morning for me. - I have got to give a big shout out to our set up and parking lot team for their hard work in the cold on Sunday.  The lot was cleared, the cars were parked nicely, and I even had one couple tell me that the parking lot team valet parked their car and walked them up to the door.  NICE GOING TEAM!!  You are the 1st impression people have of our Church on Sunday Morning and you Rock! - This Sunday was our Children’s...
