Book Review: Confessions of a Pastor

Confessions of a Pastor I recently picked up Craig Groeschel’s book, Confessions of a Pastor.

At first I was a little skeptical, wondering how open and honest Craig would be in his book.  By the end of the book I was amazed by his transparency and thankful for his honesty.  I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is involved in ministry!  Craig does not just “rant” about his weaknesses, struggles, or negative experiences, but also offers helpful solutions along with scripture verses to wrestle through.

For me personally, this book is worth the read because of the following chapters:

Chapter 1:  ”I Can’t Stand Most Christians”

Chapter 3: “Most of the Time I Feel Incredibly Lonely”

Chapter 5: ” I Worry Almost All of the Time”

Chapter 7:  ” I Feel Completely Inadequate”

Craig Groeschel reveals a lot about who he is, where he is at on his journey, and as a guy who is continually trying to realign my life with Christ I appreciated that.   It is easy to at times feel like “we are alone” in our feelings, but Craig steps out with boldness, sincerity, and humor to reveal we all have struggles!  This book was a great read!  I did not know much about Craig Groeschel before reading this book, but after reading the book I like him a lot and would love to sit down over a cup of coffee with him sometime.
